Each African country has something specific as far as musical production is concerned. Côte d’Ivoire is one of these African giants in musical trends and events. So it is no thinkable to organize any kind of ceremony or celebration without singers, drum players or traditional performers, masters of the speech, storytellers…in Côte d’Ivoire. That is why each year at the eve of August, 7th a big concert is organized on one of the largest boulevard of Abidjan: the Concerto as it is called is one of the greatest musical events of the country. Hundreds of singers and musicians (of old generations and modern generations) perform before several thousands of people for free.
