In this page you will find the manifesto of “Moroccans for English”, which are our Moroccan friends militating for the implementation of English in Morocco

This group aims to gather all Moroccans and friends of Morocco who share the same desire of seeing Morocco finally hop into the train of modernization and globalization by means of acquiring the number one spoken language in the world.
It is the language of finance and business, diplomacy, science and technology, showbiz and any other important sector. In a word: the langua franca of the modern world. The one you are using as of now while browsing the net, accessing thousands of applications and communicating with people from all four corners of the world. The one that can get you by any where in the world you might be in. The language once mastered will put the world in the palm of your hands. The English language!

For decades, Morocco has been missing out on this important factor of success in this modern world. The few lucky ones who realized the opportunity have seen doors of endless possibilities open before their eyes. The majority of us stayed behind, cut from the rest of the world, happy to converse and do business with our closest neighbours only. We waited tirelessly and repeatedly for French translations of new inventions, technology, reports, movies and so on.

To this date, Morocco does not have an English media organ to communicate with the world , to defend our country’s interests , to inform the world about our side of the story and present the image of a modern tolerant morocco that we so claim, and most importantly to boost our exposure and promote our tourism industry.

On the academic level, Moroccan students, researchers, professors and academic institutions would have a direct access to knowledge, given that the vast majority of research and inventions are conducted primarily in English. Knowledge seekers can have access to scientific and academic journals from around the globe without unnecessary blocage or delay. The information flow would be seamless.

In a sum, we can’t afford to be left behind in this ever globalized world. We must promote the learning of English language to all Moroccans. It is a powerful tool to add to our arsenal if we want to survive and thrive as a nation and as an economy.
We must strive to incorporate English into our schools, administration and businesses. We must raise awareness of the general public of the importance of this matter. By the means of this group, we hope to gather as many voices as possible and work together to achieve these goals.
We welcome any feedback, suggestions or input that contributes to our goals and is aligned with our mission.

Yours in English,
