When talking with a group of Tunisian citizens, we thought about several reforms for Tunisia These reforms included speaking English as first foreign language, diversifying our foreign relations and modernising our culture In 2008 and 2009, I followed the efforts of the Tunisian government and people to implement the reforms but, the persons who were speaking English were threatened and terrorized, the authorities were prevented from doing the reforms which ended to be very limited and insignificant (they were reduced to tell the people to study English at home, because they couldnt make the reforms in their own schools !!!), the efforts of diversification of international relations and of promotion of Tunisian culture in Tunisia were brought to an end by the vilest and most criminal means, by the use of blackmailing and threatening including isolating very high officials in their own big house ... Whole parts of the executive are under direct control of a foreign force ... We are living under occupation ! The people were lied to about the whole thing and manipulated Sometimes outrageously, even told that it was improper to stand for their own rights !!! The whole country was brought to its knees Those are the reasons why, in the end of 2009, I decided to do the right thing and to start militating for this cause to help Tunisia, as well as all the other African countries in the same situation to develop themselves and to connect with more people and to become more independent Starting from here, it is not the story anymore but a reminder of the stakes for our countries : The stakes related to this cause are high for our countries : 160 countries around the world speak English as 1st foreign language, which is the language of science, business, technology, media, international communication (among those countries are ALL the developed countries and ALL developed francophone countries) we are among the few left who speak other languages The majority of countries and people in the world do not know anything about us because we do not speak English ! ... This is injustice and enslavement ! The English language is the key of our jail ! It is also the promise of more prosperity and development and more international relations ! And I will continue to stand for the cause until the end ! |
